From Jackie:
Favorite memories of good ol' Hudson High
Then I remember crisp autumn evenings on the football field, the marching band playing, shakers in hand, running into formation, linking arms, kicking in unison with
fellow senior dancing majorettes—Linda D., Mary M., Mary R., and Camie T. I tried one of those kicks a few years ago. Some things are best left to memory!
And Now We are still living in Toronto, but moved this past year. Our new home is one of six built fifteen years ago on the old Gordon Lightfoot estate. Since moving in, I have developed an obsessive desire to sing, not just in the shower, but at the dinner table, in front of business guests and boyfriends (daughters', not mine). Consequently, I have learned all of the verses to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and "That's What You Get for Lovin' Me." Did I mention, I sing off key!
My children are grown now. Jill graduated in 2001 from the University of Toronto. She is currently a marketing coordinator, promoting legal and pharmaceutical conferences—but looking for something “more exciting.” Brie is in her final year of media studies at the University of Western Ontario. My husband Vic is V. P. of sales for a group of Toronto radio stations, which means we are never without free t-shirts!
Me? I keep thinking about going back to teaching (I was a professor of communications and psychology). I also keep thinking about writing a book. As you can see, I probably do more thinking than doing. On a productive note, Diane Kelly and I collaborated on a miniature art book, which got my creative juices flowing, so who knows what lies ahead. One thing, for sure, I want to take more time to reconnect with old friends. The journey has already begun. I was lucky enough to reunite, a few years ago, with Kathy Boston. In Dec. of 2000, Diane Kelly and I had a brief but wonderful reunion in La Jolla. In the summer of 2001, Linda Davidson and I had a lovely California lunch at the home of Kathleen Christman. An added treat was her surprise guest, Mary Ritschard. California seems to be calling__for several years, Linda and I have been discussing a T and L tour down the coast. We hope to rewrite a few scenes by meeting with old friends, making new memories and changing the ending! Hope to see you all at the 40th reunion, if not before.
